Paying a Debt

Have you not paid contributions to the Social Insurance Agency? If you have not paid contributions or pay them at the wrong amount, you will incur a debt to the Social Insurance Agency that you are obliged to pay.

How do I find out whether I am in debt?

Text

If you have provided your contact details to the Social Insurance Agency, you will receive a monthly email or SMS notifying you of any non-payment or incorrect payment of the contributions. If you still have not paid the contribution despite this, you will become a debtor and your name will be published in the List of Debtors (SK) on the Social Insurance Agency’s website.

What do I do if I have a debt?

1

Pay the debt according to the instructions in the written decision

delivered to you by the Social Insurance Agency. In this way, you may be asked to pay:

  • the outstanding amount of contributions;
  • a penalty for the default in the payment of contributions; or
  • an imposed fine.
2

Pay the debt in a lump sum or with a repayment schedule

You can apply for a repayment schedule to the relevant Social Insurance Agency branch. If approved by the Social Insurance Agency, in accordance with the law, it will determine:

  • the amount of instalments;
  • the amount of interest;
  • deadlines for the payment of individual instalments;
  • the branch account number (SK) at the State Treasury for payment of the instalments.

Always make the required payments by their due date.

(At the same time, do not forget to pay the regular contributions properly.)
