What is requalification?

Have you suffered an accident at work or have you been found to have an occupational disease that prevents you from returning to work? Requalification can help you do this – a benefit provided under accident insurance to help you return to your working and social life.

Requalification is a change in existing qualifications. New skills and knowledge, and possibly practical training, need to be acquired for the new qualification. A new qualification is an activity corresponding to your medical fitness for work, taking into account age, working capacity and qualifications.

When am I entitled to requalification?

Not everyone who has suffered an accident at work or has been found to have an occupational disease is automatically entitled to requalification. The medical assessor of the relevant Social Insurance Agency branch will assess your medical fitness to undergo requalification.
