Register for voluntary insurance

How to register

• Via the form that is available in the Forms section here: Natural Person Registration Form (RLFO).
• It is also necessary to attach Declaration of a Voluntarily Insured Person – in this declaration you confirm that you are not currently insured in another Member State of the EU, the EEA, the Swiss Republic, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Also, that you take note of all the conditions of the voluntary insurance.

Where to apply

The forms must be delivered to the branch of the Social Insurance Agency in your place of residence, either in person, by mail or electronically, via the Central Public Administration Portal (www.slovensko.sk).

When does the insurance commence, or since when am I voluntarily insured?

You will be insured on the day you submit your application at the earliest. It is not possible to register retroactively. Therefore, it is important, for example, if you want to get a sufficient number of insurance days due to maternity benefit (270 days) or unemployment insurance (730 days), to apply for insurance well in advance.
