Find out how long I will receive unemployment benefit

Have you applied for unemployment benefits and want to know how long you will receive it?

How long is the support period during which I will receive unemployment benefits?

Text

Unemployment benefits are paid by the Social Insurance Agency for 6 months (support period), from the date of inclusion in the Register of Job Seekers until the end of the support period. However, if the conditions for its payment are not respected, the payment of the benefit will be stopped by the Social Insurance Agency even earlier.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: In order to receive your benefits, you need to cooperate actively with the labour office. Adhere to the set deadlines and report regularly to the assigned staff member. Otherwise, you may be removed from the Register of Job Seekers and, at that moment, you will lose your entitlement to the benefit.

When does my entitlement to benefits end?

Apart from expiry of the support period, entitlement to unemployment benefits also always ends:

  • on the date of delisting from the Register of Job Seekers;
  • on the date of award of an old age pension, early old age pension or invalidity pension due to a reduction in earning capacity by more than 70%;
  • on the death date of the person;
  • with a lump-sum payment of 50% of the unemployment benefits for the remaining part of the support period.
