No. After starting a job, you have no obligations towards the Social Insurance Agency. The employer fulfils all obligations for you.

When do I become an employee?

For the purposes of social insurance you are an employee if:

  • you are a natural person and you perform work for an employer as part of an employment relationship,
  • you are a natural person and you perform work outside the employment relationship, in the so-called similarly to labour relations, which includes:
    1. agreement on the execution of labour
    2. agreement on labour activity
    3. agreement on labour activity for the performance of seasonal work
    4. agreement on part-time work of students
  • you are a natural person (in Slovak “FO”) in another legal relationship, which establishes the right to income from a dependent activity (e.g. FO in who works a civil servant relationship, agent, mandate holder...).

How do I register with the Social Insurance Agency?

Your employer registers you as an employee with the Social Insurance Agency. Employer also pays insurance premium on your behalf and fulfils all notification and reporting obligations.
