If you are a natural person who properly takes care of a child under six years of age, you are compulsorily insured for pension if you meet the following conditions:
-
you properly take care of a child under six years of age;
Proper care of a child for the purposes of pension insurance is care provided to a child in the interest of his or her all-round physical and psychological development, in particular adequate nutrition of the child, hygiene of the child, upbringing of the child and compliance with preventive examinations of the child.
The condition of proper care for the purposes of pension insurance is considered to be met if you provide proper care of the child personally or through another adult natural person or legal entity (nursery, kindergarten, etc.).
Note: If more than one person is properly caring for a child under the age of six, the Social Insurance Agency registers as a state insured the person who is entitled to parental allowance. If neither of the persons providing proper care for the child is entitled to parental allowance, the person who filed the application earlier is compulsorily insured for pension insurance due to this care.
-
you and the child have permanent residence in the Slovak Republic (if you have permanent residence in the Slovak Republic, you can be a state insured even if you are temporarily staying abroad);
-
you are not pension insured as a person who properly cares for a child with a long-term adverse health condition up to the age of 18;
-
you are not granted an early old-age pension or disability pension,
-
you have not reached the age required for entitlement to an old-age pension (retirement age); and
-
if you are not entitled to parental allowance, you have filed an application for pension insurance due to this care. If you are entitled to parental allowance, the Social Insurance Agency will automatically register the establishment and termination of your pension insurance as a state insured person.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: All of the above conditions must be met at once! If you do not meet one of the above conditions at a certain time, you do not belong to the group of persons who are compulsorily insured for pensions, and compulsory pension insurance will not arise for you, and if it has already arisen, it will cease to exist by law.
In the event of the termination of proper care for a child under 6 years of age, the state insured person is obliged to deregister from pension insurance within eight days of its termination on the form here: Natural person registration sheet.
