Apply for release of pension payments

After you have been awarded a pension, you may stop fulfilling one or more of the conditions that entitle you to receive it. In such cases, the Social Insurance Agency will stop paying your pension. Once you fulfil the condition again, you can apply for the release of pension payments. 

How should I proceed?

  1. Write an informal application (letter) stating:
    • your identification data (name, surname, birth number, address) and 
    • the subject of the application (release of a pension payment). 
  2. Send the signed application to:
    • the Social Insurance Agency headquarter (Sociálna poisťovňa, ústredie, Ul. 29. augusta č. 8, 813 63 Bratislava 1) or
    • via your electronic mailbox if you have activated it and you use an electronic citizen’s identity card – eID (you can find more information at the Central Government Portal slovensko.sk).
  3. On this basis, the Social Insurance Agency will send you the decision on the release of your pension payment.
